The Journey

FROM THE CRICKET FIELD
TO THE MIND GAME.

"14 years of professional cricket. One realization that changed everything."

Irfan Ali

Irfan Ali is a former state-level cricketer who played Cooch Behar Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy for Uttarakhand, was selected for and attended the National Cricket Academy (NCA), and spent 14 years competing at the highest levels of Indian cricket.

After retiring, he dedicated his career to solving the problem that ended most talented players' dreams — mental performance. Today he runs Cricket Steps, India's only dedicated cricket mindset coaching academy, having trained 500+ cricketers across India and internationally.

The Player

Growing up obsessed with cricket, Irfan made it to the Uttarakhand state team, played Cooch Behar Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy, and was selected to attend the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.

For 14 years he competed at the highest levels of Indian cricket — doing everything physically right. But he noticed something no one was talking about. The mental game.

The Turning Point

Tournament after tournament, Irfan watched supremely talented cricketers fail at critical moments. Not because of skill. Not because of fitness. But because of their mind.

"I realized the most important game is happening between the ears — and nobody in Indian cricket was teaching this. I knew this was the gap I was born to fill."

The Mission

In Ghaziabad, Irfan founded Cricket Steps. He developed a structured 6-step cricket mindset coaching system — the first of its kind in India.

He wrote and published "Cricket Ke Pehli Steps", the first Hindi book on cricket mindset. He began coaching online, reaching cricketers across India, UK, Canada, and Australia.

Today, with 500+ students trained and 90,700+ YouTube subscribers, his mission is clear: to revolutionize how Indian cricketers train their minds.

The Coaching Philosophy

Player-First

Every cricketer is different. Irfan builds a coaching approach tailored to each student's mental profile, not a one-size-fits-all script.

Real-World Application

Mindset techniques are practiced before, during, and after real matches — not just in theory.

Parent as Partner

Parents are coached alongside the player. Family environment shapes a cricketer's mindset more than any single session.

Data-Driven Progress

Monthly video analysis and mindset tracking reports ensure progress is measured and documented accurately.
